September Lecture on Archaeological Dig
An enthusiastic audience of about 100 people gathered at the Quincy Historical Society on September 15 to learn about the results of the recent. archaeological dig at the Quincy Homestead. Carol Holliday, a member of the Homestead committee, was the driving force behind the project and introduced the speaker. John Kelly, of the Public Archaeology Lab, spoke for about an hour describing the history of previous investigations at the site and the findings of the 2021 dig. Artifacts found at the site were on display.
The Colonial Dames extend thanks to the Quincy Historical Society and Director Ed Fitzgerald for hosting the lecture and to the City of Quincy Community Preservation Committee for funding the project.
