Brown Bag Lunch: The House of Worth in the NSCDA-MA Costume Collection
August 15, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Free
Julia Breckenridge has spent her summer interning in the NSCDA-MA Costume Collection – join us for a brown bag lunch to learn about her research!
Julia is a junior at Middlebury College studying art history and theater with a focus in costume. She has been passionate about historical clothing since she was a kid and she started making reproduction clothes for herself in 6th grade. She has been working on researching a Worth dress donated by Mrs. Webster, as well as one that belonged to the Countess of Edla. Her research has been focused on the people and the families who owned the dresses, but also the designer and his contemporaries. Her love for Lucille and L.P. Hollander has grown since starting work on the collection. She is excited to share the stories of the women who wore the dresses and the people who made them.
Please bring your own lunch to enjoy during the lecture. Light beverages will be provided.
