March 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Running it back, because it’s worth it!
Tickets can be found here.
We are pleased to announce that we are re-running House of Worth: Americans in Paris, and this time as a virtual program. Curator & Costume Collection Manager, Liz Weisblatt will explore how French designer Charles Worth became so popular in America. What made his gowns so appealing? How did the high-end fashion market operate in the nineteenth century?
This event includes a rare opportunity to view pictures of several Worth gowns in the costume collection of the NSCDA-MA.
Charles Worth is considered by many to be the father of haute couture, or high fashion. In the late nineteenth century, many wealthy American women traveled to Paris to visit and patronize the House of Worth, where he put on fashion shows and created seasonal collections.
