(Public) Colonial Blacksmith and Embroidery

Please join the NSCDA-MA for Colonial Blacksmith and Embroidery at the Dorothy Quincy Homestead. Our special guest is Dean Rantz who has been a “Practicing Blacksmith” since 1982. He operates, Rock Village Forge in Middleborough, Mass. Using traditional tools and techniques. He creates and recreates Hand forged-Iron work . Specializing in restoration hardware. Mr. Rantz received his Bachelor of Fine-Arts Degree in Art History and Sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art. He will be joined by his wife Laurie Rantz, who will demonstrate colonial embroidery.

Guided tours of the Homestead are conducted every 30 minutes, on the hour and half hour. Admission is $10.00 per person, donations are welcome.
