The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts cordially invite you to the 14th annual Jean Brett Lecture by Joe Cornish, Preservation Historian.
This exciting lecture, titled “The Architectural Legacy of Asher Benjamin: 1773-1845,” commemorates the 250th birthday of Asher Benjamin, the architect of Prescott House.
Asher Benjamin (1773-1845) was a highly influential American architect and author whose work transitioned between Federal architecture and the later Greek Revival architecture. His seven handbooks on design deeply influenced the look of cities and towns throughout New England until the Civil War.
