SUMMARY:Spinning Demonstration at Quincy Homestead
DESCRIPTION:Quincy Homestead will be open for tours on August 19 from 11 am – 2 pm and will feature a spinning demonstration by Zoe Lawson. The Homestead was home to four generations of the Quincy family\, including Dorothy Quincy\, wife of John Hancock. \nZoe Lawson acquired a passion for spinning at a early age. Her parents were active in Revolutionary War reenactments and she spent most of her summer weekends in 18th century encampments. After a spinner at one of the camps taught her some simple techniques when she was eight\, she came home\, found a top she had made at the Boston Children’s Museum and started spinning.
