Born in Boston, Ben Franklin was a scientist, inventor, a writer and a statesman. Franklin attended Boston Latin School (1714-1715) at age eight and dropped out before graduating. He did not attend college and instead at age 12 was indentured to apprentice for his older brother James, a Boston printer. At age 17, Franklin ran away from his apprenticeship (due to harassment and beatings for being late) to Philadelphia where he found work as a printer… AND… The rest, as they Say… is History.
Ben Franklin helped draft The Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. He is the only founding fathers that signed all four of the key documents establishing the United States: The Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Treaty of Alliance with France and the Treaty of Paris establishing peace with Great Britain.
