SUMMARY:(Public) Militia Demonstration with Colonial Bailey's 2nd Massachusetts Regiment
DESCRIPTION:Step back in time to experience the life of a soldier in the American Revolution at a military encampment and living history on Saturday\, July 25th\, 2026 from 11 AM to 3 PM. The reenactment is part of Rev 250 and the celebration of Quincy 400\, community-wide celebration of Quincy’s rich cultural and educational heritage. \nJoin enactors from Colonel Bailey’s 2nd Massachusetts Regiment with drills\, music and living history demonstration. Enjoy activities for the kids\, tours of the Quincy Homestead and much more. \nGuided tours of the Homestead are conducted every 30 minutes\, on the hour and half hour. DESCRIPTION:The Membership Committee invites all Dames\, Warriors\, partners\, and prospective candidates. All Dames on the Cape are invited and of course Dames from other areas are very welcome. We kindly request that you bring a bottle of wine or an appetizer to share. This party will take place both inside and outside. \n*Parking is available on Barnhill Road\, Summerhill Lane\, or at the town landing at the end of Barnhill Road.  There will be a police officer at the entrance to the driveway at 353 Barnhill to help with directions\, we also have about 6-7 parking spaces saved for those with walking difficulties.

DESCRIPTION:Please join the NSCDA-MA for Colonial Blacksmithing & Embroidery at the Dorothy Quincy Homestead House. Dean Rantz has been a “Practicing Blacksmith” since 1982. He operates\, Rock Village Forge in Middleborough\, Mass. Using traditional tools and techniques. He creates and recreates Hand forged-Iron work. Laura Rantz will be demonstrating colonial embroidery. \nGuided tours of the Homestead are conducted every 30 minutes\, on the hour and half hour. DESCRIPTION:The Dorothy Quincy Homestead on August 22\, 2026 welcomes back Zoe Lawson. \nThe art of spinning is best learned by the young\, and Zoe Lawson has been practicing the craft of spinning by drop spindle and on a wheel since childhood. She shares her techniques while in 18th century garb while illuminating the various methods colonists used to produce their own textiles.
